Unidentified Australian Native?

Postby Bushranger on January 2nd, 2010, 8:15 pm

Hi,

I live in South East Queensland and have a few of these trees/plants in my garden. What are they called? Ive been told that they appear to be Australian Natives. Any ideas on how tall/wide/fast they will grow?

Thanks.

G'Day, Bushranger, first glance and it looks like a bottlebrush. if it is they can normally grow to about 10-12 metres tall and probably half that wide depending on the type and growing conditions. i have seem them growing much larger in their natural enviroment, although some cultivars grow a lot smaller. this is only a guess though

It does indeed look like a bottle brush. If you upload a closer picture of the leaves I could probably id it better for you :)
