Potatos gone to shoot!

Postby Maggie on December 27th, 2009, 7:37 pm

Hi everyone,
Just wondering, I went away over the Christmas period and forgot to put the spuds in the fridge. When I opened the cupboard this morning, there were 6 spuds in there with wonderful growth, the shoots are about 10cm tall. Is it safe to plant these out for a food crop for myself or better not too? The spuds themselves have NOT gone green, they are still a lovely brown. I'm not fussed if I get a large crop or not, just thought it would be fun to plant them out and see what happens, however I would prefer not to poison myself if it can be avoided :P Thank you, everyone :-)
